RSIME Hires New Engineer

Dan Malone

A new member of our team at RSI is Daniel Malone. Daniel manages the dynamic studies group performing simulations in support of our clients.  He uses finite element software (like LS-DYNA for instance) to simulate complex dynamic events that would otherwise be impossible to recreate.  He has built up over twenty years of analysis experience ranging from aircraft design and analysis to anthropomorphic dummy model development for the automobile industry before coming to RSI.  He has used LS-DYNA for more than 5 years consulting for the federal government.  He developed a valid model of the latest crash test dummy which is being used by the ARMY to improve vehicle occupant survivability.  Daniel has a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering, a master of science in engineering mechanics as well as a master of science in applied mathematics.

He will be helping RSI in the future to bring human injury technology and crashworthiness analysis to the rail industry.

Below are a few examples that Dan has worked on using LS-DYNA.
